Saraya Aqaba Hotels And Resorts – Design Build Package For The District Cooling Plant Pump House

Project Specifics

  • Design and installation of temporary shoring using soldier piling system supported with 3 layers structure steel bracing system to allow excavation to bottom of foundation level at -7.5m at a sensitive area and casting of reinfocre concrete pumping station surrounded by adjacent hotel from one side and the royal palace from the other side
  • Dewatering system using deep wells, bottom layer of well point system in addition to a trenching system system was selected carefully to avoid and settlement in surrounding structures
  • Foundations and walls thickness were carefully designed to withstand the uplift forces and minimum crack theory
  • Waterproofing system was selected and applied on the outer walls sides and internal side
  • Roofing system was made of precast pre-stressed beams and slabs
  • MEP and finishing works
  • Location of the structure and accessibility was challenging and pump house civil works including shoring and excavations were successfully completed in 75 days
